Canon has packed the 60D with some great new features and it is set to replace the 50D. This ensures that the 60D is able to capture scenes with extreme difference in brightness as a backlight object; the camera calculates the correct exposure and the picture is not just metered by the brightest area of the scene.
• In Camera RAW Editing - The camera allows processing, editing and rating of Raw images to JPEG. The photographer need not spend time on a computer for this processing.
• Full HD Video Recording –   It can capture Full HD video at a resolution of 1920 x 1080 at frame rates variable frame rates of 30,25 and 24.It also includes a wind filter which minimizes unwanted background noise.

Compatible Lenses

The 60D is compatible with the Canon EF & EF-s Lenses and also works with the lenses with inbuilt image stabilizer to  minimize the effect of camera shake. The same lenses can also be used for video recording.

The Canon 60D body is priced at $1099 and photographers will have to shell out as much as $1399 for the kit with Canon EF-S 18-135mm f/3.5-5.6 IS zoom lens. The Canon BG-E9 battery grip is priced at $270.
