Song: Breakfast at Tiffany’s

Some people don’t like eating breakfast whereas many others sideline it by casually reasoning that they just skipped it or they didn’t have time. Well this statement may sound like a cliché but I guess one needs to repeat it from time to time
“Skipping breakfast is bloody unhealthy for one’s health.”
Well many people I know, skip breakfast in the morning and in the evening they are doing cardio workout in the gym and treading like wild hogs.
I mean for heaven’s sake skipping breakfast leads to obesity. On one hand people skip breakfast just because they don’t “feel” like eating anything in the morning or in technical jargon “anorexic towards breakfast” and on the other hand they crib over the flab they have accumulated. Skipping breakfast leads to ’n’ number of problems from obesity to a lousy day which in turn leads to lack in efficiency.
A keen observation in this topic also inferred that many people don’t regularly eat the “Power Foods” in breakfast.
Some power foods:
Cereals
Oats have been the power foods of the Scots for generation. But cereals have become quite prominent when it comes to nutritional fame with the discovery of “soluble fiber”.
Plus Points-
> They help reduce cholesterol.
> Super source of slow release energy for endurance sports and physical activities.
> High in calories which is very good for sports athletes.
Bread
“Give us this day our daily bread” is a familiar line to those who know god’s prayer. Needless to say even god’s prayer recognizes the importance of bread.
Plus Points-
> It contains calcium which is essential for muscle contraction as a part of physical activities.
>Whole wheat breads are loaded with vitamins, minerals and niacin which are essential for healthy body.
> Wheat bread keeps your digestive system on track and decreases problems of the gastrointestinal tracts. The fiber content within wheat breads has been shown to protect women of pre-menopausal age against cancer within the breasts.
Honey
Jerry Seinfeld must have been in knee-deep gratitude when he decided to make “The BEE Movie”. The movie showed how Bees worked day in day out, throughout their lives extracting honey. In every sense the bees know that honey is an awesome source of energy, immunity and nutrients.
Plus Points-
> Honey helps sore throat. Yes!! And its delicious aswell.
> Good aid for digestion. Honey mixed with apple cider vinegar and diluted with water is nice for digestion.
> Supplement for sugar. People can feel the sweetness without giving a half damn ass about their diet charts.
>Helps you to sleep. It acts as a mild sedative which aids sleep.
Eggs
“Go to work on an egg” was used in a 1960s advertising campaign by the Egg Marketing Board. And they knew what they were talking about. Researcher Dr Paul Clemson, an obesity expert, said:
“Despite equal energy content and weight, an egg breakfast had a greater satiating effect compared to a bagel breakfast, which translated into a lower energy intake at lunch. The resulting decrease in energy consumption lasted for at least 24 hours after the egg breakfast. These results have potentially significant implications. Eggs are an integral part of breakfast in numerous cultures and the satiating effect of eggs may be useful in reducing energy intake thereby promoting weight management.”
Plus Points-
> Great protein source. The egg white. All the gym rats ( with due respect) know what we are talking about.
> Immunity.
> Cataract treatment, skin care, nervous system, strong bones, and blood formation
> It helps reduce weight aswell. It makes the stomach feel full so one does hog like a hobo after having a couple of eggs.
To get you started on the one true path to righteousness, I’ve included a couple of entries from (gasp!) my own personal dairy.
